Stanislav Dzhakov, a former GMHL scoring title winner, has finished up his third season with the Niagara University Purple Eagles (NCAA Division I) and led his team in scoring this season.

Dzhakov, who played with the now defunct Shelburne Red Wings, had 9 Goals and 8 Assists for 17 points this year with Niagara finishing as the scoring leader for the Purple Eagles despite playing in fewer games than many of his teammates.

During his lone season with the Red Wings in 2010-2011 Dzhakov, the 6'2 forward from Russia, set what was at the time a record for not only Assists in a season with 78, but also the record for points in a season with 140 Points in 41 games for Shelburne.

Following his GMHL Career Dzhakov went on to play in the USHL and the NAHL for the Fargo Force and Bismack Bobcats respectively amassing a total of just under 100 points in his three seasons of junior hockey post GMHL.

Over the course of his 3 years at Niagara University Stan has averaged almost a point in every other game with 41 Points (17G, 24A) in 92 career NCAA Division I games. The Purple Eagles are hoping to have Stan back for his senior year and compete for a national title.

Niagara University has supported GMHL alumni for years and has helped advance many different players to high level professional leagues as well, from the entire GMHL congrats Stanislav and good luck with your hockey future.
