Support for effort for the prevention of concussions and spinal injuries!
August 3, 2010
The Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League is pleased to announce it will support the efforts of the program called PLAY IT COOL, an injury prevention program of the Canadian Spinal Research Foundation's SHOOT FOR A CURE campaign.
Play It Cool™ is an injury prevention program of the Canadian Spinal Research Organization’s Shoot For A Cure campaign. This program aims to reduce the incidence of Neurotrauma (concussion and spinal) injuries in hockey. The program equips hockey players with the knowledge and skills to increase their safety on the ice and to enhance their abilities as players.
Play It Cool™ works collaboratively with the sports community to instill the belief in players, coaches, officials and families that skill enhancement and education is the key to injury prevention. Their website (www.playitcoolhockey.com) is not yet complete, but continue to check back often to learn more about Play It Cool™! |
