GMHL HAS 2 MORE PRO CONTRACTS COME ITS WAY!
The GMHL continues to make strides sending players on to the next level, and while we have made great strides promoting our players to the college level, more and more pro contracts are finding their way into the hands of GMHL players.
It's ironic that while the influx of European players allowed in the GMHL have given the league an unique edge in the landscape of junior A hockey, that now European pro teams continue to take advantage of the players developing in our program.
A few weeks ago, it was confirmed that the NHL's Ottawa Senators had signed Bradford star forward Artem Podshendyalov to a minor league contract with their ECHL affiliate in Elmira, just this week, two more pro contracts have been confirmed.
Brad Clark, the Deseronto star that lead the GMHL in scoring, was a unanimous decision in voting for the league's Most Valuable Player, and lead the Storm to their first GMHL title, has signed a contract that will see him suit up in Sweden next year, while goaltender Marco Repitsch will play in Austria's Nationaliga for HC Innisbrook.
