NEW WEBSITE ON THE WAY FOR SEASON FIVE!
The GMHL is pleased to announce that the league's website - gmhl.net - will be getting a major facelift in the coming weeks!
Since it's launch in early 2008, the league's decision to sign on with Powerplay Stats has been an invaluable asset to the level of communication and reporting on our league that was sorely lacking with our previous and original site.
Live scoring, instant updates, rotating articles - were all elements that better served our objective to provide better information to those that follow our league, and especially scouts and recruiters looking to it as the obvious number one source of information about the players in our league.
Despite that, there were a number of issues that still needed to be addressed, and working in consultation with the IT staff at Powerplay, an updated version of our site is on the verge of completion.
Aside from the fact that we'll have a completely new look, with many features and information becoming more static and readily available as opposed to the scrolling articles and scolling boxscores, the biggest improvements will come in the area of statistics.
Some of those improvements will include:
- plus/minus stats
- special team percentages
- shots on goal
- goaltenders stats in case of substution for shots on goal and won-lost record
- 3-star selections
- standings
We're also still working on better systems for rosters, transactions, protected lists, stats for traded players, and more!
We expect to have new site available for testing and the uploading of information within 7-10 days, and hope to go online with the new site by the 1st of July.
The GMHL is entering its fifth anniversary season, and once again, we will continue to move forward improving our product and demonstrate our commitment to our objective of providing the best junior league in the world for the development of young aspiring athletes.
Stay tuned!
