The Jets will be competing in the Tier II Junior A Greater Metro Hockey League based in Ontario and are expecting to attract the best junior players available. The GMHL does not have import restrictions, allowing players from around the world to have an opportunity to showcase their skills to college coaches and scouts from across North America.

“We anticipate a good turn-out and we look forward to building our team to compete in the GMHL this season” Head Coach Dennis Canfield said.

The players will take part in a total of three on-ice sessions, an off-ice physical assessment and other team related activities throughout the weekend. On Saturday, the players will be on the ice twice and will have an afternoon barbeque at Midway State Park, located on scenic Chautauqua Lake.

The try-out camp will conclude with an on-ice session Sunday afternoon, followed by exit interviews with all players in attendance. The coaching staff will compile a list of players during the weekend and will offer player cards to all qualified players.

The Jets are expected to open their main training camp on Tuesday September 7, 2010 at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena. The GMHL board of governors will meet this Friday to finalize the 42 game schedule but the Jets are expected to open their season on Friday September 17, 2010.

The cost of the camp will be $100 and will include three on-ice sessions, off-ice training and a barbeque lunch on Saturday.
