Both teams are coming off first-round sweeps and are eager to continue their postseason success.

North York Renegades: The Renegades had a strong regular season, finishing with a 28-13-1 record (57 points), good for second place in the South Division. North York boasted a formidable defense, allowing just 127 goals (second-fewest in the division) while tallying 179 goals of their own. They enter this matchup looking to continue their disciplined defensive play and capitalize on their offensive depth.

Keys to Victory

North York:

  1. Continue Defensive Excellence: The Renegades’ ability to limit high-danger scoring chances has been a hallmark of their success.

  2. Balanced Scoring Attack: North York must utilize their depth to spread the offensive load.

  3. Goaltending Advantage: If Gaidukov maintains his strong form, North York will have the upper hand.

St. George:

  1. Top Players Must Shine: The Arthurs brothers need to produce at a high level.

  2. Defensive Structure: Limiting North York’s transition game and scoring depth will be crucial.

  3. Special Teams Success: Capitalizing on power play opportunities and staying disciplined will be key factors.

Series Outlook

This matchup pits North York’s defensive stability against St. George’s high-powered offensive threats. The Renegades will look to control the pace, while the Ravens will need their top scorers to step up against a tough North York defense. If Gaidukov continues his strong postseason play, the Renegades have a strong chance to advance. However, if St. George can dictate the tempo and generate consistent scoring chances, they could make this a hard-fought series.

Puck drop for Game 1 is set for tonight with both teams ready to battle for a spot in the South Division Finals.
