The third-seeded West Nipissing Lynx continued their regular-season dominance over the sixth-seeded Knights of Meaford, completing a two-game sweep in the North Division opening round.
After outscoring Meaford 38-9 in five regular-season meetings, the Lynx carried that control into the postseason, winning 5-2 in Game 1 and 5-2 again in Game 2 to advance.

Shane Brannick faced heavy pressure in both contests, particularly in Game 2 where he turned aside 47 of 52 shots. Despite strong individual stretches, the volume proved too much to overcome.
Key Performances
Norbert Levai (West Nipissing): 3-point Game 1 performance
Adam Shillinglaw (West Nipissing): Goal and assist in Game 1, steady presence throughout
Billy Sancibrian (West Nipissing): Goals in both games after late-season acquisition
Sergey Tishchenko (West Nipissing): Power-play impact in Game 2

Mitchell Berens and Bouba Sidibe provided offensive push for Meaford, but the Knights were unable to match West Nipissing’s depth.
Implications
West Nipissing’s structured attack, special teams efficiency, and goaltending stability proved decisive. After finishing third in the North Division, the Lynx now move forward with confidence and momentum.
For Meaford, the season ends after a rebuilding campaign. Despite flashes of resilience and physical edge, the gap in depth and execution ultimately decided the series.
What’s Next?
West Nipissing now advances to the North Division semifinals, where they will face the reigning back-to-back-to-back GMHL Champion Bradford Rattlers.
The matchup carries history. Two seasons ago, in 2023-24, the Rattlers swept the Lynx in the Conference Finals — a series that still lingers in Sturgeon Falls. West Nipissing will now have the opportunity to avenge that defeat against a dynasty that continues to set the standard in the North.
A full series preview will follow soon, breaking down the key matchups and storylines as the Lynx attempt to dethrone the champions.
