GMHL Power Rankings (Top 10 Teams)

The division hierarchy is starting to take shape as teams fight for crucial points before the winter break. The Bradford Rattlers remain at the top, but Northumberland’s meteoric rise continues to shake up the power structure. Wasaga’s high-powered offense keeps them in the mix, while Ville-Marie and Meaford hold steady in a competitive North Division.

1. Bradford Rattlers (21-2-2, .880 PCT) – North Division

Previous Rank: 1st
The Rattlers continue to impress with their potent offense and stingy defense. Bradford is second in the league in both goals for per game (6.16) and goals against per game (3.28), a testament to their all-around play. They’ve weathered a couple of losses but remain the team to beat, thanks to their consistency and ability to dominate in all phases of the game.

2. Northumberland Stars (19-5-2, .769 PCT) – South Division

Previous Rank: 8th
The Stars have made a massive jump, climbing six spots into second place. They’ve been playing at a high level, averaging 5.39 goals per game and conceding just 3.39 goals per game. Their win over the South Division-leading Renegades and impressive performances against top teams have solidified their place as a true contender.

3. Wasaga River Dragons (22-5-1, .804 PCT) – North Division

Previous Rank: 5th
The River Dragons continue to lead the North Division with their offensive prowess, averaging 6.43 goals per game. While their defense has been an area of concern, their high-scoring offense allows them to remain one of the most dangerous teams in the league. They’ve bounced back from a few tough losses and remain firmly in the hunt for top spot in the division.

4. North York Renegades (19-10-0, .655 PCT) – South Division

Previous Rank: 3rd
The Renegades have slipped one spot but still boast one of the league’s best defenses, allowing just 3.10 goals per game. They’ve shown resilience in tough matchups, but their scoring has been inconsistent, which has cost them in some high-pressure games. If their offense can find more balance, North York will be a force come playoff time.

5. Ville-Marie Pirates (17-9-0, .654 PCT) – North Division

Previous Rank: 9th
Ville-Marie continues to push forward, with a strong offensive attack averaging 4.65 goals per game. Their defense has also held steady, allowing 3.54 goals per game. With a three-game win streak and a solid overall record, the Pirates have positioned themselves as a serious threat in the North Division and could continue to climb if they maintain their form.

6. Meaford Knights (14-8-2, .625 PCT) – North Division

Previous Rank: 4th
Meaford slides slightly in the rankings after a loss, but their offensive firepower remains a key strength, averaging 5.13 goals per game. However, their inconsistency on defense has hindered them, as they allow 4.04 goals per game. Despite these struggles, they’re still very much in the hunt for a strong playoff position.

7. West Nipissing Lynx (17-13-1, .565 PCT) – North Division

Previous Rank: 6th
The Lynx drop one spot after a recent loss but continue to be competitive with their offensive output of 4.35 goals per game. Their defense, however, remains a concern, as they allow 4.29 goals per game. West Nipissing has the talent to beat top teams, but their defensive lapses will need to be addressed if they want to rise further in the rankings.

8. Tottenham Railers (15-13-2, .533 PCT) – South Division

Previous Rank: 2nd
The Railers have seen a sharp decline after starting the month strong, having lost six of their last seven games. They still have the firepower to compete, averaging 4.83 goals per game, but their lack of consistency, especially on defense (allowing 4.93 goals per game), has hurt them in recent weeks. If they can find their footing, Tottenham could still turn things around.

9. St. George Ravens (14-13-3, .517 PCT) – South Division

Previous Rank: 9th
The Ravens drop 2 spots thanks to a a mixed bag of results. They continue to struggle with defensive issues, allowing 4.53 goals per game, but their offense, averaging 4.17 goals per game, keeps them competitive. St. George will need to find more balance if they want to climb higher in the rankings.

10. Toronto Flyers (13-14-4, .484 PCT) – South Division

Previous Rank: Unranked
The Flyers have made a strong push to enter the rankings, winning four of their last five games. Toronto has shown offensive depth, averaging 4.45 goals per game, but they’ll need to improve defensively, as they allow 4.61 goals per game. The Flyers have the potential to climb further if their recent form continues.

Honorable Mentions

Bradford Bulls (12-14-2, .464 PCT) – South Division
Despite a recent slump, the Bulls remain a dangerous team, averaging 4.43 goals per game. They’ll need to tighten up their defense, which has allowed 4.07 goals per game, but if they can string together a few wins, Bradford could still make a late-season push.

Senneterre Le Bécard (7-20-2, .276 PCT) – North Division
Senneterre’s struggles continue, but they remain competitive in games, averaging 4.00 goals per game. Their major issue remains on defense, as they allow 6.55 goals per game. They have the potential to cause problems for higher-ranked teams, but they will need to improve both ends of the ice.
