Bulls Get Revenge on Shield

Hunter and Gardiner score 2 each to top the Shield

After a crushing Overtime Loss to the Shield on November 26th, the Bulls were ready for the Muskoka Shield Last night in Bradford. The 8:00pm puck drop game provided another close game, but it was the Bulls that took the edge in this one with a 5-4 win.

The first period saw the Bulls off to a hot start with a power play goal by Bulls points leader Ryan Hunter. Assists went to Jake Alton and Josh Booker. Later in that period, the Bulls scored again with a goal by Conner Gardiner assisted by Elias Name and Esa Patton. Shots were 12-15 in favour of the Bulls after one period.

The second period was an all offensive affair that saw the Bulls take a 3-0 lead with another goal by Conner Gardiner, assisted by Elias Name and Logan Willis. The Shield finally answered the Bulls offence with back to back goals by Jacob Budney, assisted by Aaron Sloan and Anrijs Bundzenience and a short handed goal by Toms Breikss, assisted by Braedon Mitchell. The Bulls eventually made the score 4-2 with a goal by Luke Camara, assisted by Brad Arnott and Esa Patton, but Dennis Golovatchev brought his team back within one with a power play goal assisted by Triston Sorenson and Dennis Dreyer. The shots in the second period were 19 for the Bulls and 12 for the Shield.

The final third saw the Shield fight with everything they had but it was not enough as Ryan Hunter scored the fifth and goal winning goal for the Bulls, assisted by Esa Patton and Haiden Lambert. The Shield were able to keep the score within one goal with a goal by Jacob Budney, assisted by Triston Sorenson and Dennis Golovatchev. Shots were 8-10 in favour of the home team once again.

#3 Esa Patton 3A

Yaroslavl Shebang stopped 39 of the 44 shots directed at him while Dominic Marquis stopped 28 of the 32 shots directed at him by the Shield.

The next time the Bulls will face a North Division team will be December 13 and 14 when they will face the Temiscaming Titans and the Meaford Knights. While the Shield will be facing South Division teams on those same days where they will be facing the Niagara Predators and the St. George Ravens.
