GMHL Streaks: Standings are Taking Shape as Top Teams Perform

Red Wings, Roadrunners, Rattlers, Mountaineers, Ravens, Renegades, and Pirates are on a Roll

As of Tuesday November 15, GMHL teams are closing in on the 15 game mark and with others already passed it, the season is well on its way and every division has teams that are starting to gain traction.  In the West Division the undefeated High Prairie Redwings are on a 17 game win streak. In that span, they have scored 9.23 goals for per game and only allowed 1.64 goals per game. Their next game is November 18th where they will face-off against the winless Gibbons Pioneers. Another team in the West Division that has been firing on all cylinders is the Mackenzie Mountaineers. They are also undefeated so far this season and are on a 7 game win streak, scoring 10.42 goals per game and allowing 2.57 goals per game. Their next game will be versus the Burns Lake Timbermen who are looking to win their first game.

In the South Division, the Durham Roadrunners are on an 8 game win streak, which allowed them to improve their record to 13-1-0-0 for second place in the division. So far this season, the Roadrunners have averaged 7.85 goals for per game and allowed 1.57 goals per game. Their next game will November 21st versus the North Division Bancroft Rockhounds, who will be looking to snap a 5 game losing skid. Another team that has recently gain some traction is the St. George Ravens. They are currently on a 6 game win streak, allowing them to improve their record to 10-7-0-0, placing them in fifth place in the South Division. Their next game will be versus the Niagara Predators who are trying to snap a three game losing streak. Last note worthy streak in the South Division is for the first place North York Renegades who after suffering their first loss of the season, have bounced back to win five straight. Improving their record to 16-1-0-0 while scoring 6.64 goals per game and allowing 2.41 goals per game. They will be facing the Windsor Aces on November 19th to try and continue their hot streak.

In the North Division there are two teams that have been taking control of the top of the standings. The Ville-Marie Pirates are currently on a four game win streak that improved their record to 13-3-0-1 for the most points in the standings with 27. So far this season they have scored 6.35 goals per game and allowed 2.64 goals per game. November 18th, they will try to bring their streak to five wins as they face the South Muskoka Shield. The other North Division streak is tied for the second longest win streak in all of the GMHL is the Bradford Rattlers. Since their last loss, they have won eight consecutive games, improving their record to 11-1-0-1. In 13 games this season, they have scored an average of 6.84 goals per game and allowed 2.69 goals per game. November 17 will be their first of back to back games versus the Meaford Knights this week who will seek to avenge their loss the last time the two teams faced.
