The Greater Metro Junior “A” Hockey League (GMHL), after discussions and consultation, and working with the Provincial Government and local health authorities, is announcing its COVID-19 Policy on vaccinations.

All players, coaches, trainers, team staff will be required to be fully-vaccinated from COVID-19 before being allowed to participate in any team activities.

The GMHL members will comply with the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and offer support to any member who is unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons or on grounds protected under the OHRC. For religious reasons, to get an exemption from vaccination, participants will have to comply with local public health authority policy on applying for an exemption.

The objective of this policy is to protect the health and safety of our players, team personnel, and fans. This vaccination policy is in addition to the GMHL Return To Play protocols, and arena safety protocols to ensure as safe a playing and team environment as possible.

At the moment, it is not a requirement that fans attending games be vaccinated, although it is encouraged. Local arena and GMHL safety protocols must be followed by all fans attending GMHL games.
