GMHL WEEKLY GAME REPORT

September 11–24, 2026

The 2026/27 GMHL season is underway, and the opening stretch of the season has already produced plenty of goals and some strong early performances.

WEST NIPISSING LYNX OFF TO A PERFECT START

The West Nipissing Lynx opened the season with back-to-back victories over the Temiscaming Titans.

West Nipissing started with a 3–2 win on September 11, followed by a convincing 5–1 victory on September 12. The Lynx finished the opening weekend 2–0, scoring eight goals and allowing only three.

ORANGEVILLE BLITZ MAKE AN IMPRESSION

The Orangeville Blitz opened their season with a 9–3 victory over the Tottenham Railers on September 12.

The Blitz followed that performance with another impressive offensive showing, defeating the Bradford Bulls 9–3 on September 17. Orangeville has now scored 18 goals in its first two games, giving the new season a fast and exciting start.

BRADFORD BULLS SHUT OUT DURHAM

The Bradford Bulls opened their season with a strong defensive performance, defeating the Durham Roadrunners 6–0 on September 15.

Bradford's goaltending and defensive game were outstanding, with the Bulls recording a shutout in their first game of the season.

After the games completed through September 17:

North Division

  • West Nipissing Lynx — 2–0, 4 points
  • Tottenham Railers — 0–1, 0 points
  • Temiscaming Titans — 0–2, 0 points

South Division

  • Orangeville Blitz — 2–0, 4 points
  • Bradford Bulls — 1–1, 2 points
  • Durham Roadrunners — 0–1, 0 points

The early season has already seen 26 goals scored by Orangeville and West Nipissing combined, with both clubs starting the campaign undefeated.

The next several days will give fans their first opportunity to see a number of teams enter the 2026/27 season, while the early-season leaders will look to continue building momentum.

GMHL — THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON

The 2026/27 season marks the 20th anniversary of the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League, and the season is already off to an exciting start.

The season is young, the standings are taking shape, and there is plenty of hockey still to come!
