Weekend Preview — September 25–27, 2026

The 2026/27 GMHL season continued to build momentum this past week, with teams battling for early-season positioning and several clubs putting together strong performances.

With the first weeks of the season now underway, the competition is beginning to take shape across the league. Here is a look back at the action from September 18–23, followed by the upcoming weekend schedule.

 THIS WEEK'S RESULTS

Friday, September 18

West Nipissing Lynx 9 — Ville-Marie Pirates 3

West Nipissing continued its impressive start to the season with a nine-goal performance against Ville-Marie.

Sergey Tishchenko and Preston Seguin-Hutchison led the Lynx attack with five points each. Tishchenko scored twice and added three assists, while Seguin-Hutchison recorded one goal and four assists. Thomas Hamel added two goals.

West Nipissing outshot Ville-Marie 30–29 and took control of the game with a strong third period.

Friday, September 18

St. George Ravens 6 — Bradford Bulls 2

St. George opened the weekend with a strong six-goal performance against Bradford, earning an important road victory and establishing itself as one of the teams to watch early in the season.

Saturday, September 19

Northumberland Stars 9 — Tottenham Railers 0

Northumberland continued its strong start with a convincing shutout victory over Tottenham.

The Stars' offensive attack combined with strong defensive play to keep the Railers off the scoreboard.

The victory gave Northumberland its second consecutive 9–0 result against Tottenham.

Saturday, September 19

West Nipissing Lynx 5 — Temiscaming Titans 3

The Lynx completed a successful two-game weekend with a 5–3 victory over Temiscaming.

West Nipissing finished the weekend with two wins and 14 goals scored.

Saturday, September 19

Orangeville Blitz 8 — Durham Roadrunners 1

Orangeville continued its undefeated start with an eight-goal performance against Durham.

The Blitz's offensive production has been one of the early stories of the 2026/27 season.

Sunday, September 20

Orangeville Blitz 9 — Toronto Flyers 3

Orangeville followed up its Saturday victory with another strong offensive performance, defeating Toronto 9–3.

The Blitz finished the weekend with 17 goals in two games.

Sunday, September 20

Temiscaming Titans 2 — Ville-Marie Pirates 4

Ville-Marie bounced back from Friday's loss to West Nipissing with a 4–2 victory over Temiscaming.

Tuesday, September 22

St. George Ravens 4 — Durham Roadrunners 1

St. George continued its strong opening stretch with a 4–1 victory over Durham.

The Ravens finished the week with two victories.

Wednesday, September 23

Bradford Bulls 6 — Durham Roadrunners 4

Bradford closed out the reporting period with a six-goal performance against Durham.

The Bulls took the victory 6–4 in Wednesday night's action in Bradford.

⭐ WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS

Northumberland Stars

The Stars posted back-to-back 9–0 victories over Tottenham, combining strong offensive production with two shutouts.

West Nipissing Lynx

West Nipissing continued its undefeated start with wins over Ville-Marie and Temiscaming. The Lynx scored 14 goals over the two games and currently sit at 4–0.

Orangeville Blitz

The Blitz also remained undefeated, scoring 17 goals in two weekend games. Orangeville's schedule shows the team entering the upcoming weekend at 4–0.

St. George Ravens

St. George recorded two victories during the week, including wins over Bradford and Durham.

Bradford Bulls

The Bulls closed the reporting period with a 6–4 victory over Durham on September 23.

September 25–27, 2026

The GMHL returns to the ice this weekend with another full slate of games.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25

Northumberland Stars vs. Bradford Bulls

West Nipissing Lynx vs. Almaguin Spartans

Brighton Vikings vs. Orangeville Blitz

Temiscaming Titans vs. Bradford Rattlers

Orangeville will look to continue its undefeated start when it travels to Brighton. The Blitz are scheduled for a 7:30 PM start at King Edward Park.

Northumberland will also be back in action against Bradford Bulls on Friday night.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26

West Nipissing Lynx vs. Bradford Rattlers

Tottenham Railers vs. Ville-Marie Pirates

Toronto Flyers vs. North York Renegades

Brighton Vikings vs. Orangeville Blitz

Toronto and North York meet Saturday night, with the game scheduled for 7:45 PM at Paramount Ice Complex.

Orangeville and Brighton will meet again Saturday at 7:30 PM, giving the two teams consecutive nights against each other.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27

Bradford Rattlers vs. Ville-Marie Pirates

North York Renegades vs. St. George Ravens

The North York–St. George matchup is scheduled for 7:45 PM at York Canlan.

Northumberland Stars vs. Bradford Bulls

Two teams looking to continue building momentum early in the season meet Friday night.

West Nipissing Lynx vs. Bradford Rattlers

West Nipissing enters the weekend undefeated and will look to continue its early-season success.

Brighton Vikings vs. Orangeville Blitz

These teams meet twice in two nights, making this an important weekend series for both clubs.

North York Renegades vs. St. George Ravens

The weekend concludes with a Sunday night matchup between North York and St. George.

GMHL WEEKLY WRAP-UP

The opening weeks of the 2026/27 GMHL season have already produced plenty of offensive firepower, shutouts and competitive hockey.
