The Deseronto Storm looked to close out their Best-of-5 Series with the King Wild Sunday afternoon in Deseronto. They easily won game one 6-3 and snuck by the Wild Saturday night 4-3 in game two. Sunday was game three. Other than a minor scrum the first was pretty quiet until there was five seconds left. John Sweet scored from Cody Maracle and Jeff Morris. The Wild complained the Storm came in offside but to no avail. Deseronto led 1-0 after the first.
It wasn`t long into the second period that the Wild tied it up because Deseronto helped them by getting a couple of penalties. It was a 5 on 3 powerplay when Brandon Farrugia scored to make it 1-1. Almost ten minutes later Steve Wicklam scored another powerplay goal to put the Wild ahead. The Storm came back though with a goal at 13:14, Andrew Bobas scored from Brad Clark. Then only 49 seconds laters Clark got a goal to regain the lead. King City would then tie it once again, this time at three. Deseronto would score a power-play goal of their own with 25 seconds to go in the second and took a 4-3 lead into the break.

A minute into the third Deseronto started to pull away with another power-play goal. Clark got his second of the night assisted by Todd Munden and Max Qwarnstrom. The Storm scored their sixth goal at 13:27 and took their biggest lead of the game 6-3. Jeff Morris scored from Cody Maracle and John Sweet. The King Wild started to make it close just over a minute later when Marc Fortin scored. Less than a minute later they pulled within one. Daniel Douglas scored for the Wild. The good old pull the goalie tactic didn’t work out for the Wild, in fact it gave Brad Clark his hat trick goal to close out game three 7-5. The win also allowed the Storm to clinch the series.
