Red Wings remain undefeated, Renegades pursue South dominance, and the Shield snap losing streak

The GMHL had 8 games last night all across its three divisions. In the West division, Slave Lake hosted Edson, Gibbons hosted Fox Creek, Tumbler Ridge hosted Kitimat, and Northern Alberta hosted High Prairie. The South division saw Northumberland host North York and Streetsville host St. George. In the North division South Muskoka hosted Meaford and Temiscaming hosted West Nipissing.

Results:

West Division:

Edson Eagles 9 @ Slave Lake Ice Dogs 5

Key players were Seth Grandjambe for the Eagles who posted 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points, and Kaden Cardinal for the Ice Dogs who posted 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points on the night. Shots were 47-37 in favour of the Eagles.

Fox Creek Ice Kings 10 @ Gibbons Pioneers 2

Key players were Kyler Hamelin for the Ice Kings who scored 4 goals and 1 assist for 5 points, and Ethan Zago with 1 assist for the Pioneers. Shots were 38-19 in favour of the Ice Kings.

Kitimat Saax 9 @ Tumbler Ridge Steel Kings 3

High Prairie Red Wings 9 @ Northern Alberta Tomahawks 5

Key players were Keegan Ferguson for the Red Wings with 4 goals and 1 assists for 5 points, and Brennan Rosychuk for the Tomahawks with 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points. Shots were 48-45 in favour of the Tomahawks.

South Division:

North York Renegades 4 @ Northumberland Stars 1

Key players were Ryan Fritz for the Renegades who scored 1 goal and 1 assist, and Alexander Smirnov for the Stars who stopped 43 of the 46 shots towards him. Shots were 46-27 in favour of the Renegades.

St. George Ravens 4 @ Streetsville Flyers 1

Key players in this game were both goalies as Ravens Matthew Czyzewski stopped 41 of the 42 shots directed at him, and Flyers Kody Lockwood who stopped 36 of the 40 shots he faced.

North Division:

West Nipissing Lynx 2 @ Temiscaming Titans 3

Key Players for this game were Cory Richardson for the Lynx as he stopped 53 of the 56 shots the Titans threw at him, and Daniil Sayamov for the Titans scored 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points.
