Effective November 27, 2020,  the GMHL West Division will be commencing its holiday break, and resume in early January, pursuant to the existing GMHL schedule. The Government of Alberta's new health restrictions allow for Junior A organizations to apply to continue play during the current restrictive period. However, out of an abundance of caution, it has been determined that the best course of action is to extend the holiday break as well as the season itself. As such, the regular season and playoff games will extend into April and May, 2021. This will allow the players to participate in all regular season and playoff games, subject to government policy in effect at the time, and ensure that individual and team development goals are achieved, even during these challenging times.
